Commodore 1999

During the year of 1999 I enjoyed the opportunity of being Commodore of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. I had previously held the position of Flt/C Power and Vice Commodore, was chairman of the IJSBA and the first Hydrofest Power Boat Rades which increased our income substantually. We had the annual fall Luau giving members the opportunity to spend four days of campout.

The year was busy with youth activities. We increased monies and assistance to spring break; we worked with the Parks & Rec. Department sponsoring the children’s Christmas party; we continued to support scholarships and student graduation activities under the bridge; we sponsored the youth sailing program providing water safety activities; and when called upon, helped with boat patrol for youth water activities.

The Parade of Lights continued to grow and this was the third year our club sponsored this event.

Our Yacht club has more participation than most clubs in the city. We are a family that enjoys the company of it’s members. We encourage fun and activities.
